As the founder and owner of QueerListing, i have decided to put it up for private sale to interested buyers. Recently, something happened between me and my partner and i have had to reassess my long-term priorities. I realised that i can no longer devote the same kind of attention and dedication to this site as i used to.
QueerListing has always been a personal project close to my heart, to bring a free and friendly directory service for GLBT-friendly sites all over the internet. I spent hundreds of hours programming and tweaking the site to where it is today. I hope that someone with a similar passion can take over, keep the site alive and take it to the next level. As it is, QL is still growing with more signups each day, and with a larger audience comes immense potential. Even though if i no longer own the place, i would still like to see the site develop and i will try to help out wherever i can. Without further ado, here are some screenshots and answers to relevant questions that you would most likely wish to ask.

| 1. What is your asking price for the site? |
I am selling QueerListing for US$3800. I have already lowered this figure from my initial asking price, so i won't be likely to negotiate further.
I won't pretend that this is the next Youtube or Gaydar, but QueerListing is a good-looking site with huge growth potential, and i believe this is a fair price for the weeks and months of hard work in terms of programming, modifications and goodwill-building. In the early days, i had to enlist the help of friends, pay for advertising and establish relations with bloggers for word-of-mouth publicity to secure a visitor base. It was a long journey to build the kind of momentum we have today.
Now, when QL features a book review site for instance, there will automatically be an influx of authors listing their websites with us! That is how far we have come and i am proud of it, therefore i believe US$3800 is a justified asking price. You are basically getting a completed product for a bargain. If you were to hire web designers and consultants to establish a major startup these days, the total cost would come up to be much higher.
| 2. What's in it for me? |
i. If you're reading this far, then its fair to say that you have an interest in being a webmaster. This gives you an opportunity to own and run your own website that already has its own established visitor base and reputation. In other words, all the hard work is out of the way.
ii. QueerListing is a major gay and lesbian online directory. We're serving over 155,000 pages to approximately 33,000 unique visitors every month. No other site is this well-maintained or provides this level of service, and a lot of bloggers and partner sites we've corresponded with will tell you the same.
iii. If bragging rights isn't enough, the QL also derives a modest monthly income from advertising revenue, so you would eventually recoup the cost of the site over time.
| 3. What is advertising revenue like? |
I will not divulge exact figures, but our main revenue streams are from two premium banner positions, Sponsor and Patron listings, as well as Google ads. Our monthly intake from advertising and donations can range from US$160 - US$400, so even on a bad month, its still pretty decent. And remember, the site is still growing!
In addition, i have to say that i don't believe in bombarding my users with flashy and annoying advertisements. My ideal for QL is to provide a service for the GLBT community, and i don't believe in turning off visitors in return for short-term gains. Keeping or changing this policy is ultimately up to you.
| 4. What is the administrator's interface like? |

Due to the confidential nature of the administrative backend, i can't go into detail on how things are run, but as you can see from the screenshots, there is a tabbed interface, it has a clean design, is self-explanatory and user-friendly.
| 5. Do i require any special computing knowledge to run QueerListing? |
A basic knowledge of HTML is really all you need, and even if you know next to nothing about websites, the administrator's interface and everything else is built to be user friendly. You won't find yourself struggling to get something done because most functions can be accomplished at the click of a button or two!
| 6. How can i complete this transaction with you? |
Basically, this involves not only the sale of the site content, but the domain name and anything associated with QueerListing.com. Due to the nature of the transaction, it would probably be best to have some form of escrow to ensure both the buyer and seller (me) are protected. We will agree on an escrow agent; the buyer will pay the escrow fees ($20-$30) and i will handle the domain transfer charges and any miscellaneous fees.
| 7. Will you be around to provide ongoing support? |
Yes, as i said before, QL is a labor of love on my part, and i wish to see it continue to flourish. I will provide any assistance needed in terms of advice and minor modifications.
| 8. I wish to talk about this further. Who do i contact? |
If you have more questions, just drop me a message using this email address.
Sincerely,
Louis (QueerListing Founder)
